DESCRIPTION:As part of the Soirées Santé program\, Bordeaux University Hospital and Librairie Mollat are organizing an evening on the theme of infertility: the environment in question? \nGuests:  \nLucie Chansel-Debordeaux\, reproductive biologist\, head of the Reproductive Biology Department – CECOS and MCU-PH team 8 Biotherapies Genetics and Oncology (BioGO)  in our BRIC Unit – BoRdeaux Institut of Oncology (INSERM – Université de Bordeaux). \nFleur Delva\, public health doctor\, coordinator of the ARTEMIS center\, an environmental health prevention platform  dedicated to reproduction\, and researcher in the EPICENE team at Bordeaux Public Health  (INSERM – Université de Bordeaux). \n\n\nInfertility directly affects over three million people in France\, a figure that is rising every year. The rise in infertility is primarily due to the fact that women are now giving birth to their first child an average of 5 years later than forty years ago. It can also be linked to medical causes such as endometriosis in women or genetic abnormalities in men.   So the origin of infertility can be multifactorial\, and more and more scientific data suggests an environmental effect.\n\nOccupational and non-occupational environmental exposure to chemical substances is recognized as being able to interfere with the entire reproductive process (fertility disorders\, pregnancy pathologies\, developmental abnormalities). Numerous studies describe a link between exposure to certain families of chemical substances – endocrine disruptors – and fertility disorders. Exposure to these substances may have direct effects on gametes\, but evidence also suggests longer-term effects\, increasing the risk of chronic disease in childhood and adulthood (the developmental origins of health and disease “DOHAD” hypothesis).  What’s more\, throughout their lives\, individuals are exposed to multiple environmental factors that can have an impact on their health and that of future generations. The term “exposome” refers to the totality of an individual’s exposures over the course of a lifetime. DESCRIPTION:The Réseau Recherche Impulsion NEWMOON (New Models in Oncology) is pleased to invite you to its workshop “Targeting cell surface markers in oncology” \nMonday\, May 27 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. \nThis workshop is co-organized by Sandrine Dabernat (team 8 BIOGO) and Clément Morgat (INCIAandemerging team I.Care). \nPrecision medicine in oncology hinges on targeting specific cell surface markers to hit tumor cells while sparing healthy tissue. Some of the known markers not only identify the tumor cells but also contribute to cellular behavior.
