DESCRIPTION:Pr Adriano Sabino is invited by Vanessa Desplat\, Team 10\, Normal and Leukemic Hematopoietic Stem Cells. \nTitle: Omics Sciences Applied to the Investigation of Potential Biomarkers and Therapeutic Targets in Acute Leukemias \nPresenter: Prof. Adriano de Paula Sabino – Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG)\, Brazil  \nBio: Associate Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG)\, Brazil. Holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences with postdoctoral training in cancer therapy resistance at Michigan State University. Academic and research expertise in Clinical\, Experimental\, and Molecular Hematology. Research interests encompass cancer biology\, acute and chronic leukemias\, chemotherapy resistance\, molecular and cellular biomarkers\, functional genomics\, proteomics\, metabolomics\, nanobiomaterials\, regenerative medicine\, cell-based therapies\, and the application of bioinformatics to precision medicine.     \nAbstract: \nAcute leukemias\, including Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)\, are aggressive hematologic malignancies with high biological heterogeneity and limited predictive tools for therapeutic response and disease progression. In this context\, omics sciences offer powerful strategies to unravel the molecular complexity underlying these diseases and support the identification of new biomarkers and therapeutic targets.  \nThis seminar will provide an overview of our translational research efforts combining metabolomics\, clinical peptidomics\, and machine learning. We will discuss the conceptual and methodological foundations for applying mass spectrometry-based omics approaches (LC-MS and MALDI-TOF/MS) to plasma samples\, as well as the integration of artificial intelligence algorithms to enhance biomarker discovery\, risk stratification\, and individualized therapeutic guidance.  \nAdditionally\, we present the rationale and design of predictive modeling studies employing clinical and genomic datasets from AML patients. SUMMARY:JOBIM 2025 – Open Days in Biology\, Informatics\, and Mathematics
DESCRIPTION:From July 8 to 11\, 2025\, Bordeaux will host the 2025 edition of JOBIM (Journées Ouvertes en Biologie\, Informatique et Mathématiques) — a major event for the French-speaking bioinformatics community. This year’s conference will take place at LaBRI (Bordeaux Computer Science Research Laboratory)\, bringing together researchers\, engineers\, PhD students\, and professionals from both digital and life sciences to explore the latest developments in the field.  \nThrough the ODIL unit (Omics Data Integration & visuaLization)\, BRIC’s internal bioinformatics cell\, two of our members are currently part of the event’s organizing committee: \n\nCyril Dourthe\, bioinformatics research engineer (BRIC and OncoProt platform)\nÉlodie Darbo\, research engineer in Team 7 – Targeting Transcription in Breast Cancer\n\nTheir involvement reflects the growing role of bioinformatics in oncology research\, particularly in the work carried out within our laboratory\, where the analysis of large-scale data from RNA-seq\, epigenomics\, and cell modeling has become an essential foundation. \nHeld at the crossroads of biology\, mathematics\, and computer science\, the JOBIM conference offers a rich program of talks\, workshops\, roundtables\, and networking opportunities.
