Stagiaire en médiation scientifique

Unit 1312 BRIC (BoRdeaux Institute of onCology), accredited by Inserm and the University of Bordeaux, was created in January 2022, bringing together the strengths of cancer research in the Bordeaux research units.
Today, our unit brings together 270 scientists in 11 teams working on a collective project with two main research themes: cancers with poor prognosis and rare cancers.
Currently located on several sites in the Bordeaux metropolitan area: Institut Bergonié, Talence Campus and several teams on the Carreire site, the teams will mainly be grouped together in the Carreire BBS (Bordeaux Biologie Santé) campus building and the B2 building in Talence (Bordes campus) from March 2023.

Within this new unit, the communication department is in charge of the internal and external communication of the unit, and the organization of internal scientific seminars. It is also in charge of setting up and developing the communication tools of the unit (intranet, internet).
This service is currently composed of Sarah Lesjean, IE Inserm, communication officer.
At the interface between the teams, clinicians, patient associations and the communication department, Sophie North-Chassande, MCU at the University of Bordeaux, is in charge of reinforcing patient/research interactions
The intern will be co-supervised by Sarah Lesjean and Sophie North-Chassande.


Description of the tasks

The intern will be required to accompany and support Ms. Lesjean and Ms. North in their missions, notably in :
- Interviewing students and researchers from several teams in order to produce portraits of the different members of the laboratory (photo portrait/ video/ text popularizing their work), writing them and publishing them on the intranet.
- The drafting of sheets of popularization of the research themes of each team to be published on the laboratory's website.
- The preparation of a day of exchange between patients, patient associations and researchers of the laboratory (organization of a scientific day, search for contacts, sponsors, speakers, work with actors and/or designers to translate complex information into simple and clear messages for patients, meeting with patient associations).
- The realization of a presentation leaflet of the laboratory for the use of the civil society and in particular the patients and the financiers.
- Participation in communication via the animation of social networks and the sharing of information with patient associations on the laboratory's website.


Profile needed

Knowledge in biological sciences.
Creativity.
Knowledge of English and Wordpress would be a plus.
