The Josy Reiffers Prize<\/strong> created in memory of Professor Josy Reiffers in 2019 is an initiative of the Fondation Bergoni\u00e9<\/strong><\/a>, co-financed by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region<\/a>, Bordeaux M\u00e9tropole<\/a> and the City of Bordeaux<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

The award ceremony on December 3 saw three laureates from our research unit:<\/p>\n\n

– Dr H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Guillorit<\/strong><\/a>, pharmacist and post-doctoral researcher in team 6 MIRCADE<\/a>, led by Christophe Grosset<\/a>, for the project: Development of new treatments for pediatric liver cancer (hepatoblastoma).<\/em> The prize is \u20ac75,000.<\/p>\n\n

– Dr Julia Majewska<\/strong>, a researcher specializing in immuno-senescence and immunotherapy, for her project within Team 11 \u201cCancer and Age\u201d<\/a>, led by Catherine Sawai<\/a>: Role of senescent cells in bronchial cancer.<\/em> The prize is \u20ac75,000.<\/p>\n\n

– Dr Joaquim Javary,<\/strong> a former doctoral student at Bordeaux and currently on a post-doctoral fellowship in Switzerland, for the project, conducted with Team 4<\/a> headed by Christine Varon<\/a>: Mechanism of resistance to PI3K inhibitors and development of new therapeutic combinations in metastatic gastric cancer<\/em>. He has been awarded \u20ac50,000<\/p>\n\n
