The Palmes acad\u00e9miques awards ceremony for the University of Bordeaux <\/a>took place on Monday March 31 at the Agora du Haut-Carr\u00e9 in Talence, in the presence of Claudio Galderisi<\/strong>, Recteur d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9 for higher education, research and innovation, and Dean Lewis<\/strong>, President of the University of Bordeaux.<\/p>\n\n

Our BRIC unit is proud to have two members of staff appointed or promoted. This distinction recognizes careers dedicated to enriching the academic world and transmitting knowledge. <\/p>\n\n

Pierre Dubus<\/strong>, promoted to Officer of the Order of Academic Palms<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Pierre Dubus<\/a><\/strong> was made an Officer of the Order of Academic Palms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is PU-PH (Professeur des Universit\u00e9s, Praticien Hospitalier) in histology, embryology and cytogenetics, Director of the Coll\u00e8ge sciences de la sant\u00e9, Director of the d\u00e9partement des formations en sant\u00e9s dans les DOM-TOM, Honorary Dean of the Facult\u00e9 de M\u00e9decine de Bordeaux, President of the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration de canc\u00e9rologie du CHU de Bordeaux, Head of the Biologie des Tumeurs – Tumoroth\u00e8que department, Medical Coordinator of the CRB Cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is attached to our research unit within Team 4 – Digestive cancers associated with Helicobacter infection, cancer stem cells and therapeutic strategies<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arnaud Villacreces<\/strong>, named “chevalier” of the Order of Academic Palms.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Arnaud Villacreces<\/a><\/strong> was named chevalier dans l’ordre des Palmes acad\u00e9miques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is an engineer at the University of Bordeaux, working in our unit’s Team 10, Normal and Leukemic Hematopoietic Stem Cells.<\/a> He is also technical manager of the Celloxia hypoxia culture platform<\/a> attached to the TBMCore research and support unit (UAR). He plays a central role within our research unit, with cross-functional responsibilities in logistics (most intense at the time of moving into the new BBS building), co-leadership of the quality management group and is also elected to represent the ITA (Ing\u00e9nieurs Techniciens et Administratifs) staff on the Laboratory Council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
