{"id":49342,"date":"2025-05-14T10:30:20","date_gmt":"2025-05-14T08:30:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bricbordeaux.com\/2025\/05\/interview-with-the-sbm-department-spotlight-on-skin-idisco-and-team-5-of-bric\/"},"modified":"2025-05-15T14:36:16","modified_gmt":"2025-05-15T12:36:16","slug":"interview-with-the-sbm-department-spotlight-on-skin-idisco-and-team-5-of-bric","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bricbordeaux.com\/en\/2025\/05\/interview-with-the-sbm-department-spotlight-on-skin-idisco-and-team-5-of-bric\/","title":{"rendered":"Interview with the SBM Department: Spotlight on Skin-iDISCO+ and Team 5 of BRIC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many thanks to the <a href=\"https:\/\/sbm.u-bordeaux.fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SBM Department (Biological and Medical Sciences)<\/a> for their interview showcasing the <strong>Skin-iDISCO+<\/strong> protocol, an innovative tissue-clearing method developed by the &#8220;Cutaneous Lymphomas, Vascular Tumors, Tissue Engineering&#8221; group within <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bricbordeaux.com\/bric-team\/recherche-translationnelle-en-cancerologie-cutanee-et-maladies-cutanees-rares\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Team 05 \u2013 Translational Research in Skin Cancer and Rare Skin Diseases<\/a><\/strong> of the BRIC. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The result of meticulous work, this technology renders the skin transparent to reveal its vascular network in three dimensions. This expertise opens up new perspectives not only in skin cancer research but also in broader fundamental research.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This 3D imaging protocol, now shared with the scientific community, allows for a better understanding of tissue vascular architecture, leading to improved evaluation of treatment efficacy and more accurate characterization of diseases.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Skin-iDISCO+<\/strong> protocol was <strong>selected as one of the top protocols of the year<\/strong> and published in the journal <strong><em>STAR Protocols<\/em><\/strong>.
