{"id":49437,"date":"2025-05-16T17:25:51","date_gmt":"2025-05-16T15:25:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bricbordeaux.com\/2025\/05\/christophe-grosset-and-the-mircade-team-team-06-on-the-move-against-pediatric-cancers\/"},"modified":"2025-06-02T10:27:39","modified_gmt":"2025-06-02T08:27:39","slug":"christophe-grosset-and-the-mircade-team-team-06-on-the-move-against-pediatric-cancers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bricbordeaux.com\/en\/2025\/05\/christophe-grosset-and-the-mircade-team-team-06-on-the-move-against-pediatric-cancers\/","title":{"rendered":"Christophe Grosset and the MIRCADE Team (Team 06) on the Move Against Pediatric Cancers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Saturday, May 17, 2025, during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ffrandonnee.fr\/s-informer\/actualites\/salon-de-la-randonnee-de-noaillan-gironde-17-18-mai-2025#:~:text=La%20commune%20de%20Noaillan%20en,du%20salon%20de%20la%20randonn%C3%A9e.&amp;text=Au%20programme%2C%20des%20randonn%C3%A9es%20en,vente%20de%20mat%C3%A9riel%20de%20randonn%C3%A9e.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">South Gironde Hiking Fair<\/a> in Noaillan, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bricbordeaux.com\/people\/christophe-grosset\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Christophe Grosset<\/a>, head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bricbordeaux.com\/en\/bric-team\/mircade-methodes-et-innovations-pour-la-recherche-sur-les-cancers-de-lenfant\/\">MIRCADE team (Team 6 of the BRIC)<\/a>, took part in the 2025 edition of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondation-groupama.com\/nos-actions-en-region\/les-balades-solidaires\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Balades Solidaires<\/a><\/strong> (Solidarity Walks), in partnership with the <strong>Groupama Foundation 33<\/strong>.<br\/>The goal: to raise public awareness about childhood cancer and to collect funds to support the research led by his team, which is specialized in developing new therapies to treat pediatric cancers.<br\/>This solidarity walk was part of a larger event: a unique fair in Nouvelle-Aquitaine bringing together hiking clubs, institutions, and committed partners. The Balades Solidaires are organized by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondation-groupama.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Groupama Foundation<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.groupama.fr\/regions\/centre-atlantique\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Groupama Centre-Atlantique<\/a>, who also provide financial support for research projects related to rare diseases \u2014 a category that includes childhood cancers. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ffrandonnee.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">French Hiking Federation (FFR)<\/a> designed the routes to ensure walkers could enjoy their experience safely.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Researcher\u2026 in the Great Outdoors<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the walk, participants had the chance to talk with Christophe Grosset, who shared the meaning behind his scientific and human commitment. It was a special opportunity for the general public to connect with a research figure around a cause that can affect any family.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This event is part of a series in which the researcher is actively involved:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>May 18 \u2013 Ch\u00e2telaillon (17)<\/strong>: Solidarity walk in Charente-Maritime (Groupama 17)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>June 7 &amp; 8 \u2013 Usson du Poitou (86)<\/strong>: Solidarity walk in Vienne (Groupama 86)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>June 14 &amp; 15 \u2013 Antonne-et-Trigonant (24)<\/strong>: Solidarity walk in Dordogne, alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bricbordeaux.com\/people\/pauline-trousselier\/\"><strong>Pauline Trousselier<\/strong><\/a>, PhD student in the MIRCADE team<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Possibly in Angers<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>June 18 or 19<\/strong>: for the 25th anniversary of the Groupama Foundation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Research in Motion<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By participating in these walks, members of the MIRCADE team send a powerful message: research needs to be supported, visible, accessible, and shared.
