He studies the link between the mechanical response of cells to their environment and metabolism.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipmc.cnrs.fr\/fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institut de Pharmacologie mol\u00e9culaire et cellulaire (IPMC)<\/a><br \/>\nUniversit\u00e9 C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur\/CNRS\/Inserm<br \/>\nValbonne<\/p>\n<div>Title: <em><strong>Mechano-metabolism: From tissues to molecules<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Abstract :<\/div>\n<div>The spatiotemporal control of cell behaviour requires the transmission of information from the complex structure of tissues to their constituent cells. Mechanotransduction enables this transmission by sensing mechanical environments and adapting cellular behaviours. However, this process requires energy. Since our pioneering study demonstrating a link between cell mechanics and cell metabolism (Bertero et al, J Clin Invest 2016) our laboratory has been interested in deciphering how tissue mechanical properties shape &#8211; and are shaped by &#8211; cell metabolism.
