DESCRIPTION:Pr Adriano Sabino est invité par Vanessa Desplat\, équipe 10\, Cellules souches hématopoïétiques normales et leucémiques. \nTitle: Omics Sciences Applied to the Investigation of Potential Biomarkers and Therapeutic Targets in Acute Leukemias \nPresenter: Prof. Adriano de Paula Sabino – Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG)\, Brazil \nBio: Associate Professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG)\, Brazil. Holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences with postdoctoral training in cancer therapy resistance at Michigan State University. Academic and research expertise in Clinical\, Experimental\, and Molecular Hematology. Research interests encompass cancer biology\, acute and chronic leukemias\, chemotherapy resistance\, molecular and cellular biomarkers\, functional genomics\, proteomics\, metabolomics\, nanobiomaterials\, regenerative medicine\, cell-based therapies\, and the application of bioinformatics to precision medicine. \nAbstract: \nAcute leukemias\, including Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)\, are aggressive hematologic malignancies with high biological heterogeneity and limited predictive tools for therapeutic response and disease progression. In this context\, omics sciences offer powerful strategies to unravel the molecular complexity underlying these diseases and support the identification of new biomarkers and therapeutic targets. \nThis seminar will provide an overview of our translational research efforts combining metabolomics\, clinical peptidomics\, and machine learning. We will discuss the conceptual and methodological foundations for applying mass spectrometry-based omics approaches (LC-MS and MALDI-TOF/MS) to plasma samples\, as well as the integration of artificial intelligence algorithms to enhance biomarker discovery\, risk stratification\, and individualized therapeutic guidance. \nAdditionally\, we present the rationale and design of predictive modeling studies employing clinical and genomic datasets from AML patients. SUMMARY:Journées Ouvertes en Biologie\, Informatique et Mathématiques (JOBIM) - édition 2025
DESCRIPTION:Du 8 au 11 juillet 2025\, Bordeaux accueillera l’édition 2025 des JOBIM – Journées Ouvertes en Biologie\, Informatique et Mathématiques\, un rendez-vous incontournable pour la communauté bioinformatique francophone. Organisé cette année au sein du LaBRI (Laboratoire Bordelais de Recherche en Informatique)\, l’événement rassemblera chercheurs\, ingénieurs\, doctorants et professionnels du numérique et du vivant autour des dernières avancées du domaine. \nA travers la Cellule bioinformatique interne au BRIC\, Omics Data Integration & visuaLisation (ODIL)\, deux de nos membres font actuellement partie du comité d’organisation de cet évènement : \n\nCyril Dourthe\, ingénieur d’étude en bioinformatique (BRIC et plateforme OncoProt)\,\nÉlodie Darbo\, ingénieure de recherche au sein de l’équipe 7 « Cibler la transcription dans le cancer du sein ».\n\nLeur implication témoigne du rôle croissant que joue la bioinformatique dans la recherche en oncologie\, et plus particulièrement dans les travaux menés au sein de notre laboratoire\, où le traitement des données massives issues de l’ARN-seq\, de l’épigénomique ou encore de la modélisation cellulaire devient un pilier dont on peut difficilement se passer. \nL’évènement\, à la croisée de la biologie\, des mathématiques et de l’informatique\, propose chaque année un programme riche en conférences\, ateliers\, tables rondes et temps d’échanges.
