4,000 LinkedIn followers: an international and academic community committed to cancer research

The BRIC Laboratory (BoRdeaux Institute of onCology) is about to reach the symbolic milestone of 4,000 followers on its LinkedIn page. This growth reflects the appeal of the work carried out by our teams and the commitment of a diverse community united by a common goal: to advance cancer research.

An audience with strong local roots, yet open to the world

BRIC followers come from more than 30 countries, with a high concentration in France:

  • Bordeaux (25%) and Paris (13%) alone account for 38% of our audience, highlighting the laboratory’s regional roots and its national reach.
  • International subscribers account for 13% of the total subscriber base, with a significant presence in Morocco (2%), India, and Tunisia (1.5% each), as well as in the United States and Canada. This geographic diversity illustrates the global impact of BRIC’s scientific collaborations.

27% of subscribers did not provide their location, but their participation reflects the growing interest in our work, wherever they may be.

A network composed primarily of academic and scientific institutions

An analysis of our subscribers’ industries confirms the BRIC’s strong focus on research and innovation:

  • 32% of subscribers work in the fields of research (19%) and teaching (13%), reflecting the importance of exchanges between the laboratory and the scientific community.
  • The engineering (8%), healthcare (5%), and business development (4%) sectors round out this landscape, highlighting the links between basic research, clinical applications, and industrial commercialization.
  • A small number of subscribers come from a variety of sectors (media, information technology, and nonprofit organizations), thereby expanding our network to include stakeholders committed to sharing knowledge and supporting patients.
