10 Apr M. Khatib – team 2 – Horizon Europe project – Focus 4R

Congratulations to Majid Khatib and his partners on the FOCUS-4R project, which recently launched thanks to Horizon Europe funding under the 2024 call for proposals.

The consortium for Team 2 (Reprogramming Tumor activitY and associated MicroEnvironment), led by Majid Khatib, brings together 12 partners from five countries: France, Portugal, Spain, Norway, and the Netherlands.
Abstract:

FOCUS-4R brings together 12 EU partners to reinforce Research and Innovation capacities in the EU Outermost Regions. It promotes emerging technologies aligned with the 4R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover), and supports ecosystems and entrepreneurship through sustained academia-industry collaborations. Majid’s team, together with XenoFish (coordinated by Géraldine Siegfried, Inserm), is leading a Work Package focused on translational research into the prognostic and therapeutic roles of convertase-mediated protein maturation such as Furin, PCSK7, and PCSK9 in digestive cancers and immunotherapy.

Ce projet s’inscrit dans la dynamique de recherche européenne du BRIC et est présenté dans le livret publié par l’Inserm “Successful Researchers in European Projects”, mettant en avant les chercheurs Inserm impliqués dans des projets européens.
