18 Sep Frederic Saltel Appointed Co-Chair of the Scientific Council of the French Cancer Society
Our director, Frederic Saltel, has been appointed co-chair of the Scientific Council of the French Cancer Society (SFC).
The French Cancer Society was founded in 1906—120 years ago! It began as the French Association for the Study of Cancer (AFEC) and, 80 years later, became the French Cancer Society (SFC). The SFC’s mission is to understand and explain cancer in order to treat and cure it, and it works across a wide range of areas to achieve this goal.
The SFC has a Board of Administration and a Scientific Advisory Board. The committee consists of 12 members from across France, whose goal is to organize its efforts in the areas of information, education, consultation, and support for professionals working in the field of cancer—including students and experienced professionals, researchers, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals.
