Inca funding – Team 8 – BioGO – Oncotargeted dynamic gene phototherapy

L’institut national du cancer, INCa, as part of the call for free Research projects “Cancer Biology and SciencesPLBIO24, has selected the project coordinated by Pr. Sandrine Dabernat (Team 8 BioGO) “Onco-targeted dynamic gene phototherapy” , which will be conducted in collaboration with the Nice team of Dr Els Verhoeyen, C3M U1065.

Their project will test a novel cancer gene therapy mediated by CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing to induce a targeted rare genetic metabolic disease in tumor cells, making them vulnerable to phototherapy. This program will develop several innovations based on biotherapies and synthetic biology in the fight against cancer. The team thanks the Reseau recherches Impulsion NewMOON of the University of Bordeaux #NEWMOON, coordinated by Dr. Julie Déchanet-Merville, which funded the preliminary research of this ambitious program.
