As part of “Blue March”, colorectal cancer screening awareness month, Dr Benjamin Fernandez, digestive surgeon, colorectal surgery specialist at Bordeaux University Hospital and member of team 8 Biotherapies Genetics and Oncology (BioGO) of our BRIC unit, was the guest on ICI 12/13 – Aquitaine France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine on Thursday March 6, 2025 to talk about the importance of colorectal cancer screening.

Early detection of colorectal cancer leads to a cure rate of 90% in 5 years, yet we still count 17,000 deaths/year in France due to this cancer. In fact, 2/3 of the people concerned by this screening, the over-50s, do not undergo it. It’s time to lift the taboo and take this simple, free test.
