Josy Reiffers 2024 Prize, Fondation Bergonié – 3 recipients from BRIC

The Josy Reiffers Prize created in memory of Professor Josy Reiffers in 2019 is an initiative of the Fondation Bergonié, co-financed by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, Bordeaux Métropole and the City of Bordeaux.

The award ceremony on December 3 saw three laureates from our research unit:

Dr Hélène Guillorit, pharmacist and post-doctoral researcher in team 6 MIRCADE, led by Christophe Grosset, for the project: Development of new treatments for pediatric liver cancer (hepatoblastoma). The prize is €75,000.

Dr Julia Majewska, a researcher specializing in immuno-senescence and immunotherapy, for her project within Team 11 “Cancer and Age”, led by Catherine Sawai: Role of senescent cells in bronchial cancer. The prize is €75,000.

Dr Joaquim Javary, a former doctoral student at Bordeaux and currently on a post-doctoral fellowship in Switzerland, for the project, conducted with Team 4 headed by Christine Varon: Mechanism of resistance to PI3K inhibitors and development of new therapeutic combinations in metastatic gastric cancer. He has been awarded €50,000
