Digestive Cancer Open Day 2026

2026 Open Day on Digestive Cancers on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

BRIC is once again holding an Open Day at its premises in Bordeaux, on the Carreire campus (BBS building). Find information on our website dedicated to the general public:

 

 

This initiative, which is fully in line with the goal of scientific outreach, aims to introduce the general public, in a variety of formats, to the daily lives of researchers and recent advances in the field of digestive cancer research. The programme includes :

  • Continuous reception (except from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.)
  • Seminars on the Cancer Research/Care and Innovation Ecosystem in the Region (11 a.m. and 2 p.m.)
  • Interactive guided tours of the laboratory, including 3 workshops:
    • Workshop: “Discovering Living Cells”
    • Workshop: “The journey of a sample”: from biopsy to treatment
    • Escape Game Workshop
  • Workshops on “Observation of tumor tissues” (ongoing)
  • Exchange activity: “Ask all your questions” (ongoing)
  • Guided discoveries into the mechanisms of cancer, drug development, and various therapies. (ongoing)
  • Stand of the Gironde Cancer League (continuous)
  • Discovery of a biological model (ongoing)

Tours departing with workshop participation at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. Other activities ongoing throughout the day.

Come and discuss, around posters or mini-seminars, with various contributors involved in the research: – Academic research professionals (researchers and teacher-researchers, engineers and technicians, doctoral students and interns) – Clinical research professionals – Clinicians, including surgeons and oncologists

Patient associations, including La Ligue Contre le Cancer de Gironde (the Gironde Cancer League) and a start-up company spun off from the laboratory, will also be present!

Come visit the laboratory and take the opportunity to put on a lab coat and gloves and participate in fun workshops! This project is led by teams 3, 4, and 8 at BRIC, in collaboration with several supervisory bodies (Inserm, University of Bordeaux) and scientific partners: (Bordeaux University Hospital, OncoProt, BeLiver, Bergonié Institute).

 

Access:

🚘Apart from the parking spaces reserved for university staff (badge required), you will find spaces closer by on the sidewalk along the wall on Rue du Dr Hoffmann Martinot. Otherwise, there is a parking lot reserved for visitors a 5-minute walk away, located at 125 Bethmann Street.

🚊Take tram A to the Saint Augustin stop, then follow the “cycles et piétons” (cycles and pedestrians) markings on the ground across the CHU campus.
